Trucker's Cafe was one of the black owned soul food restaurants on my food bucket list. They definitely didn't disappoint. They allow you to sample the food before you purchase to see if it's to your liking. My country roots came out today!

I was the first and only person in there I got there as soon as they opened. I wasn’t greeted by anyone so I took a seat and waited. Many people passed me and said nothing. In my mind I’m like what’s going on are they purposely ignoring me. I’m practicing patience so I smiled and just waited. The owner came in and spoke and started to go live with all the food they have on the line today. A normal person would have said something I know but I just sat there. Finally someone asked have I been helped. I told her no and she took my order. I had to wait until the chicken was done anyway. The wait was well worth it the food was hot and fresh and my patience paid off. The owner gave me so much frozen food to cook, drinks, and cleaning supplies! She also told me to put my kids on her angel tree and she will be helping out with holiday meals! She blessed me and GOD used her and her staff to show me that being patient and kind goes a long way! Now what if I had walked in there with an attitude I could’ve missed my blessing!

Yesterday was my first time coming back here in a few years since, I moved out of state. This is one of my favorite places to get the Jumbo Jive Turkey Burger. Ms. Paulette moved to a new location and this is a very nice restaurant. They were out of turkey so, I ordered the Mack Truck burger with mayo, ketchup and mustard with lettuce, tomato, cheese and bacon and a side of fried okra. My sister order off of the lunch selection of foods and we ordered the Fat Catfish plate to share. I got the mixed kool-aid of blue raspberry and fruit punch. The food is still absolutely delicious and cooked fresh to order. I always come here when, I'm in town. I would highly recommend coming here to eat. the food is the best. Update: I went back for lunch on Sunday and ordered the Jive Turkey Burger with fried cabbage on the side. I'm including those pictures. It was hot and delicious.

First time visiting. The food was amazing. Everything was fresh everything was delicious. I had the barbecue ribs with there homemade sauce. Mash potatoes, macaroni cheese cornbread and sample some turnup green gumbo. People y’all don’t hear me. Off the chain.

The food was really good here. The aunties were in the kitchen! Big portions and great customer service. It wasn't very busy but people were coming in! I dined in!

Looking for Soul Food in Richardson? You must try Trucker's Cafe. I have enjoyed their food for years. The quality of their food has consistently been superb. When you order takeout, make sure you try the smothered pork chops, catfish, variety of salads, corn bread, and candied yams.

This was certainly an experience. It felt like being served by family, but the cost, definitely felt like strangers!!! All in all, the food here is delicious. And if you operate in girl math, each serving will feed you twice so it's half as much tonight with no cooking tomorrow. And that's good cause my $18 fish ( on the menu board) turned into a $26 fish at the register. Same 2 sided. Same bread option. Don't get me wrong, the food smacks, but I couldn't eat there often... tough on a sista budget. What do you think???

OMG this place is so amazing. I've eaten here numerous of times. All I can say is go try it for yourself. This time I order the Collard Greens gumbo, pig feet with yams, broccoli and cheese, and the other plate is beef tips and rice with yams and green beans. Both plates came with cornbread. And she's now serving alcohol while you dine in. I had a daiquiri and that was fabulous just like the food. I will be going back. The service is awesome and the staff is great and friendly. But you must go early cause she runs out of certain stuff. But she has other great choices to choose from.
